The veteran golfer of US Steve Stricker is all set to have a go at the Ryder Cup starting from the 28th September in Medinah near Chicago. US skipper Davis Love III announced his four picks for the Ryder Cup recently and Stricker along with Jim Furyk, Brandt Snedeker and Dustin Johnson was in the list.
Being asked how it felt to be a part of the US Ryder Cup team Stricker replied that he was pretty excited. He also stated that it was his desire to make it to the team and he did accordingly. Stricker has tremendous records in the team events and Love trusted on his experience. His main goal now is to win the Ryder Cup for his team.
Steve Stricker played for the Illinois University after having born and brought up in Wisconsin. So it is evident that he will be having a great fun when he makes his entry at the Medinah. Eventually Stricker was brought up in Edgerton which is two hours north from Chicago. He clinched the Western Open title in 1996 in the Chicago area. He also came victorious at the John Deere Classic thrice.
Quite evidently Steve Stricker feels a lot relaxed now. He said that Davis Love had a talk with him when he was playing in the PGA Championship. According to him, Love wanted to know his opinions about making the team. He told him that he desperately wanted to get into the team. Love encouraged him there by saying that he was in a good touch and told him to play his natural game. Stricker feels happy to see the trust his captain has in him and surely it will push him to play even better. And one should not forget the fact that Stricker will be playing in front of his home crowd and it will also bring the best out of him.
