English rising golf star Tom Lewis has had a superb year and at only twenty one has been on exceptional form. The young player from Hertfordshire has achieved a number of great things this year making many believe can make it as a top pro for some years to come.
Lewis, who received the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Award for his performances during 2011, has already won an incredible and unprecedented victory at the Portugal Masters, which he believes has changed his life forever. Lewis shot to fan after playing a superb opening round at last year’s open championship where he became the first amateurs to be leading the competition after an entire days play.
Lewis is already looking forward to returning to the course for his next competition and is relishing the chance to take part in a title defence in Portugal, during next year’s tournament. The up and coming Englishman believed that he was well suited to the conditions and course in Portugal and shows he has nerves of steel to secure a victory when being in contention going into the last day of a massive tournament.
Lewis admits he has been applying the best golf of his life, but insists better is yet to come. Many believe he is the hottest property on the European tour and after this amazing victory, his reputation is at an all time high and after turning professional in late last year he will be unable to defend his St Andrews Link’s trophy, but is instead eyeing up bigger tournaments which he might be able to pull off another impressive win.
