Danny Lee Eligible For BMW Championship

Danny Lee’s fans who have been following his achievements this PGA Tour season are heartened to see that he retains his chances to play at the BMW Championship.

Being the number one player of New Zealand, many feared that he has almost finished his season when he missed the chance that came by at the second playoff. He did fallout from the top 70 player list in the overall tour as a result of his performance at the Dell Technologies Championship.

He has, however raised to the 69th position as other players lost ground. He has now become eligible to be part of the penultimate playoff event that will be held in Illinois in a time span of two weeks. Meanwhile Justin Thomas has added another title to his series of wins this season and even outlasted the likes of Marc Leishman and Jordan Spieth.

McIlroy Will Not Be Seen On Social Media For Sometime

Last month was not good for one of the World’s top golfer Rory McIlroy.

And this is all because of the social media. According to McIlroy, he was dragged in the middle of the social media storm, when he had no fault. Steve Elkington, who was the winner of the PGA Championship, is also known as the man who is notoriously outspoken on social media like Twitter, tweeted that, McIlroy seems “bored” playing golf.

The whole incident proved extremely bad for Rory. Rory, before the start of Irish Open revealed that he was taking a hiatus from social media for an indefinite period of time, however he may come back at some point of time. In his twitter he said,
“Just because of this reason, for some time I am off from social media. I do not want to read the stuffs mentioned about me. These are the stuffs that shouldn’t get to anyone but sometimes it does.”

Rory said that, I got distressed not because the thing that was said on social media about me, but I was more upset because of the person. Anyone who is playing golf in the present time knows it well that how hard the golf has become.

His further words in the twitter were, if this would have been written by media’s member or somebody else, I could have not taken it so seriously and let it slide, this is because, these people don’t how it is and what kind of challenges a player has to deal with.

But when such comments come from a former player, who has won a major is really making the impact and that is why it got to me and this is only why I am replying to it.

Rory McIlroy’s Wedding Plans

With his wedding coming up this weekend, there is a lot of news that his fans and followers are getting from the media and otherwise.

The venue is a luxury hotel based in an iconic castle in Ireland; the wedding would be one of lavish proportions. There is nothing left behind the curtains as all of the old exes and previously planned weddings are discussed as well.

While Stoll got engaged with Ilroy in 2015 December, there is much to discuss, such as the wedding that was to be with Ilroy’s ex, Caroline Wozniacki, who had been part of his life and at the time when they split, the wedding invitations had also been sent out. Then again, there are exes like Sweeney, who had dated McIlroy for a period of six years. But she is married now and informed the media that she harbored no ill feelings towards Rory. Not that it means they would invite each other their respective weddings.

Back to McIlroy’s performance in the courses, he came off tied to the seventh position this year at the Masters. He would have loved to earn the green jacket that he would have gained the permission to wear at this wedding, if he had earned it. Even though that dream is to be put off for another time, the wedding however is on and with the scale of arrangements being done, looks all set to be a grand event indeed. There would be stars like Niall of One Direction as well as Ed Sheeran flies in that night to perform. It is also rumored that Coldplay would also be performing at the wedding. Indeed, there is much to look forward to for the fans to follow on social media and other channels where news of the wedding would filter in.

The Australian PG Championship finals saw Harold Varner in his first European Tour title win, thereby putting the heartbreak of last season’s play-off behind him, with a closing round of 65.

12 months ago, Varner had entered in the final rounds in a share of the lead. He however, finished level par at the RACV Royal Pines Resort with a closing 75, thus losing out to Nathan Holman on the first play-off hole.

Varner was well prepared this time around as he teed off to shots on the Gold Coast, behind Andrew Dodt, the longtime leader.

The duo finally went toe-to-toe down the stretch in a thrilling battle, which saw Varner with a second 65 of the week, thus pushing him further to win by two shots on 19 under par.

He thus sets a new record, as the first non-Australian to lift the title, since Greg Turner of New Zealand last lifted it in 1999.

“I’m just super excited. After last year, it feels good to come back and finish it off,” said Varner.

“It’s been a blast for me, between the volunteers, the people, I can’t wait to come back.

“Yesterday when I got on the first tee and they said ‘Adam Scott’. Well, actually, they went over all accolades, ‘former number 1, Masters Champion’ I was like, ‘well I’d pull for that guy too”.

Varner had earlier cut the lead to one shot, after putting through a stunning approach which soon saw him with a share of the top spot.

He also put his approach to 15feet on the seventh, and came off with the birdie putt.

At seven under, was Ryan Fox, Challenge tour Graduate, who stayed a shot ahead of Tom Lewis, Stephen Gallacher, RomainLangasque, Prom Meesawat and Scott Hend.

Jason Dufner Plays HORSE

Jason Dufner has been in the news several times, more so for his glamorized marriage lately.

He has also been doing interesting feats like showing his jump shot at HORSE. If you are intrigued, it is basically about attending a food drive that was organized by his foundation at the Auburn University. Here he visited his alma mater as well as toured the school with a fellow pro player. He took along Steve Elkington as his fellow tour player and they went around the campus in hoops. Steve was also there to participate in the food drive. The HORSE game was played where Dufner showcased his skills and his fellow player gave up, stating that Dufner was too good at shooting the hoops.

Though this was at a lighter note, Dufner has been recently formed pairs for an upcoming shootout in Southwest Florida.

News has been released of the pairings that would be of the 2016 Franklin Templeton sponsored event. The pairings have been announced about ten days before the game will start. It is considered to be part of the PGA Tour event and would be held at Tiburon Golf Club from December 5th to 10th at the Ritz Carlton golf resort.

The theme is a repeated theme, having about five teams who will play as they did before. It would include defending winners like Jason Dufner along with Brandt Snedeker and several others. There would several players who will pair up like they played last year. There would be a difference in the form of a woman being allowed to be part of the event. This would be Lexi Thompson, who would be the second woman to take part in the event. The last time such an incident took place was in 2006. She would be paired along with Bryson DeChambeau.

Rickie Fowler stated that playing the weeks before definitely expected set me up to play on Thursday at the majors previous year. His patience was also very good previous year. This is a very long week at any major, and you just need to keep moving forward and stay away from as many mistakes as possible.

However, after all these years, the two are still together proving everybody wrong.
