Young English Hopeful
YOUNG golf ace Jordan Edge is already playing on the British Junior Golf Tour and has been runner-up at two tournaments as well as having his own website and a sponsor — not bad for an eight-year-old!
Jordan is a member at Droitwich’s Gaudet Luce Golf Club and has been part of the academy programme for two years. He's already won some Wimbledon Hospitality tickets in a regional comp, and is now on his way to the big time.
He has completed level six of the Young Masters scheme at the club’s Russell Adams Golf Academy.
The youngster has this year played on the British Junior Golf Tour (BJGT) and has gone from strength to strength, culminating in him beating 80 others players to win Gaudet Luce’s academy flag competition. Jordan started playing golf in 2009 and joined the BJGT this year.
With runner-up trophies at Wharton Park GC and South Staffordshire GC, his first year on the tour has been a successful one.
Adams said: “Jordan has just won the flag competition we held in academy at Gaudet Luce. He went the furthest around the course out of 80 children.
“I have worked with Jordan for the last two years and he has now reached level seven in the Young Masters Golf (YMG) coaching programme.
“I am really enthused by his talent and dedication even though he is only eight years old.”
